French Louis XVI style lacquered extension table, 20th c., having oval top with floral marquetry, gilt metal scrolled foliate accents, rising on fluted and tapered legs, accompanied by two leaves, some surface wear to top and leaves, approx 29 1/8"h, 71.75"l, 41 5/8"w, clearance (bottom of apron to floor) approx 24 7/8"h, extended: 106.75"l**NOTE: PART OF AAG'S END OF YEAR WAREHOUSE CLEARANCE, ALL ITEMS AS IS / ALL SALES FINAL**
11.27.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 1323: I note that the table is presently intact and structurally sturdy, please note that we are not able to extend table due to gallery size limitations, as the table has been staged in the gallery for preview, the lacquered finish of the tabletop has aided in the preservation of the marquetry, of which I do not currently observe losses to, the lacquering having typical sparse abrasions of varied degree, most being very light and overall minor, the ends of draw leaves that are visible currently show tonal variations in the finish as well as some areas of finish wear/ loss, metal elements appear to remain secure to veneer throughout, and exhibit patination commensurate with age, two of the corner posts having visible glue reinforcements at the seams of square element below tabletop, I observe typical minor surface wear, which is concentrated to edge of tabletop, such as small nicks, scuffs, and light abrasions commensurate with age and use
