French Louis XV style bombe cabinet, late 19th c., having shaped marble top, over conforming matched veneer case with scrolling foliate gilt-metal mounts, with inlaid floral marquetry, fitted with single drawer, and cabinet door opening to fixed-height shelf, over scalloped apron, rising on splayed legs, approx 45 3/8"h, 34.5"w, 15.25"d
10.24.24-I note that the cabinet is presently intact and structurally secure, the marble top having inherent natural inclusions and fissures, and a couple typical minute chips to edge, there is a small area of loss to the back left corner, the back left corner also having a reinforced hairline, the front right corner with restoration, both remaining stable at this time, there are several black-colored restoration to the veneer at front cabinet door, the side panels having similar restoration with a red-colored reinforcement, all being relatively minor, the edges of matched veneer exhibit tonal variations, due in part to light sun fading, the right-hand side panel having a small region of lacquer alligatoring with minor veneer lifting along the seams, the gilt metal elements remain securely mounted with patination/ oxidation and minute pitting commensurate with age, remaining securely mounted to the case throughout, there is a sparse amount of typical light surface wear such as small nicks and chips commensurate with use
