- Lot Description
French Louis Philippe period walnut sideboard, mid 19th c., molded cornice, double-door cabinet enclosing fabric-lined interior with shelves and drawer, lower case fitted with two drawers, over two cabinet doors, on bracket feet, approx 87.75"h, 55"w, 23.5"d
Condition
07.09.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 4081: I note that the sideboard is presently intact and structurally sturdy, there are minor glue reinforcement to the edges of the cornice, and the cabinet doors and drawers currently opening smoothly, the lock plate of the two drawers has been filled/ concealed by interior fabric lining, with the adhesive/ fill slightly visible at the top of one of the drawer pulls, there are two minor splits with filled reinforcement, one of the upper cabinet doors is slightly bowed outward, the other door bowing slightly inward, I observe typical light surface wear such as an isolated area of scuffs along the left side of medial surface, and minor abrasions commensurate with age and use, and there is evidence of old woodworm concentrated in the upper right region of case
