- Lot Description
Large silverplate ewer emblematic of water and wine, after the "Sacred to Neptune" and "Sacred to Bacchus" ewers, originally modeled by John Flaxman, Sr. (British, 1726-1795) for Josiah Wedgwood and Sons, helmet shaped with Triton above a ram's mask, applied grapevines, on a square plinth, apparently unmarked, overall with some plate loss, approx 15.5"h, 5.25lbs (for shipping purposes only) **Provenance: A prominent Terrytown, Austin, Texas estate**

3.10.25-In my opinion regarding LOT: 3002-I am sorry there are no marks indicating what the base metal is, I do note that areas with loss appear to be copper or copper tone, the piece is overall well detailed and elaborately defined throughout, I do note a small fold dent at rear body, and a few very minor light dings to side and front bodies, a further observe some surface wear, edges display some small nicks and roughness, all commensurate with its age and use, no major breaks or repairs noted
