11.27.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 3417: I note that the globe is presently intact and secure within framing/ stand, the rotational function operating smoothly, and the metal secured to axis having light mellowing and patination, the globe exhibits areas of discoloration commensurate with age, with scattered small losses to the map, the peeled losses are all very small in size and are typical given the 19th century origin, the section of frame encircling the equator having additional areas of loss to the map with visible areas of an adhesive reinforcement of minor peeling, and a couple of splits that appear to remain stable at this time, the base having small splits and a minor filled repair, and there is typical minor surface wear to such as light nicks and abrasions commensurate with age and use
