- Lot Description
English Victorian silverplate epergne, James Deakin & Sons Ltd, Sheffield, cut glass bowls supported by angular bracket arms, tripartite base with three hippocamps, (one) arm with restoration at lower join, underside braced with later support, center bowl varied, approx 16.75"h, 16"diam, 10.75lbs
Condition
2.12.24-In my opinion regarding LOT: 1111- As described, the center bowl is not a perfect match to other bowls, it was possibly a compote that was cut down, while all the bowls fit, I do not know if they are original to the piece, see images, there are some inherent imperfections to glass, such as minor bubbles, teeth on bowls do show some small and typical chipping, the stand itself is sturdy, as described: there is a reinforcement to the underside and solder restoration to one arm, there is some slight/minor denting to central knop near the mentioned solder, otherwise I note typical light patination, minor surface wear and some spotting, commensurate with age and use, please see attached images for your review.
