  Italian Model 1870 /84 Rifle, bolt action, 6.5mm caliber, 33.75" round barrel, bayonet lug, two barrel bands, adjustable rear sight,  the octagonal section of the barrel marked 1884, Brescia, P P in oval with star, and serial number, hardwood stock, metal butt plate, the left butt stock with somewhat illegible hexagon stamp of "FABR. D ARMI DI ROMA" and a stamp above the trigger guard, the right butt stock with a illegible stamp, a likely unit numbered and lettered stamp and "Bernardelli, Vincenzo", wood with dents and scratching, metal light scratching and rubs, lacks ramrod, action is good, bore semi-bright with pitting, lacks magazine, SN NQ8780   **Provenance: Collection of T'Odon Charles (Chuck) Leshikar, Jr., (Texas,1946-2020), Vietnam, U.S. Army Lt. ,“Delta Raiders,” D Company, 2nd Battalion, 501st Airborne Infantry Regiment, later Echo Company commander, Silver Star, three Bronze Stars, Soldiers Medal, Purple Heart.
