American Gothic style carved walnut secretary, Fiorentine Special Furniture Company, Chicago, Illinois, early 20th c., having hinged top revealing shallow compartment, over dual cabinet doors, opening to interior gallery fitted with six drawers and letter storage, single interior light, above pull-out writing surface, carved with tracery and linenfold motifs, rising on squared supports, retaining maker's tag at back, some small losses to trim at lower left side, approx 55.5"h, 42.5"w, 18.5"d **Provenance: From the private collection of an Austin, Texas collector** Start Price: $250.00

1.8.24-In my opinion regarding LOT: 117- The structure is sturdy, the lift top opens to interior with cord, the wiring should be replaced for safe operation, the case displays some tonal variation, small areas of finish wear and minor wood loss as mentioned, doors open well and interior drawer slide smoothly, pull out writing surface, operates correctly, and exhibits some surface wear, all mentioned commensurate with age and use
