(lot of 8) American Aesthetic Movement/ Neo-Grec parcel gilt sterling silver tea and coffee service, Whiting Manufacturing Company, New York, New York, c.1870s, monogrammed LS, with etched foliates and raised scrollwork motifs, each with M. Jacobs, N.O. (New Orleans) retailer's mark, maker's mark and varied model numbers underfoot, including: (1) large serving tray, inscribed "Presented by The Germania National Bank of New Orleans to Louis Schneider, President, January 1st, 1871," typical surface wear, approx 33"l, 20"w; (1) water pitcher, approx 12"h, 8.5"w, 5 3/8"d; (1) teapot, with small spacers at handle, approx 11"h, 9"w, 4.5"d; (1) coffee pot, with small spacers at handle, approx 12"h, 9"w, 4.75"d; (1) covered sugar bowl, approx 8.5"h, 7.5"w, 4.75"d; (1) waste bowl, approx 5.25"h, 5"diam; (2) water goblets, approx 7"h, 3.25"diam; 245.95ozt total (inclusive of spacers) **Note: Louis Schneider (19th c.) served as president of the Germania National Bank of New Orleans from 1870 to 1876 beside head cashier Hermann Roehl (Germany/ New Orleans, 1839-1899)**
