(lot of 8) French Louis XV style chairs, having white paint-decorated frame with teal trim, caned backs and seats with painted checker pattern, and scalloped trim, loose cushions in a matching teal upholstery, rising on cabriole legs, approx 38.5"h, 19.5"w, 21"d, seat height: approx 19.25"h
06.03.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 3219: I note that all chairs are presently intact and structurally secure, the seats of these chairs are also caned, but the upholstered seat cushion has been tied down to the caning, causing me to be unable to examine it closely, I do not observe any tearing to the cushion upholstery, which appears securely bound, the caning is overall well-preserved, with one chair having two minor spots near the edge of tearing with lightly visible glue reinforcement, the caning is less taut on this chair than all others in the group as a result, having a light amount of billowing under pressure, the same chair also has glue reinforcement to an area of seam separation at crest rail joinery, I observe typical wear to the painted finish, including minor losses, chips, discoloration/ staining, and scuffs, some of which have been lightly touched up with paint, a couple of the chairs also have minor loss to the painted finish of the caning, the surface wear being commensurate with age and use
