(lot of 5) Chinese carved hardstone boulder and figures, possibly carnelian agate or jasper, including: (1) large boulder, depicting seated figure beneath pine, lower boulder with approaching figure, characters to the reverse, accompanied by wood base, (1) raw stone carved with chilong and lucky coins, (3) figures, each affixed to wood base, (one) figure of Budai and Buddha, backed by leaves and bats, (1) robed figure with dragon (possible loss at left foliate), (1) figure with pearl and dragon, largest: boulder only: approx 7.5"h, 7"w, 2.75"d, smallest: 2.25'h, 2.25"w, 1.75"d, 8.25lbs **Provenance: From the estate of Leslie and Angelyn Smith, Austin, Texas** Start Price: $100.00

01.09.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 1270: I note that all figures and the boulder are presently intact, the boulder exhibits multiple hairlines but remains fully intact, and retains the gilt pressed into the two inscriptions at the verso; one of the figures with a dragon has a minor chip to the edge of a flower
