(lot of 2) Studio art glass ink bottles/ stopper paperweights, including: (1) close-packed complexed millefiori canes, on white ground, unmarked, (1) Paul Ysart (Spanish, 1904-1991, active: Scotland), multicolored top, central complex garland of millefiori cane, on white ground, unmarked, largest: approx 5.75"h, 3 7/8"diam, 4.8lbs total **Provenance: From the estate of Carl Carter (Texas, 1955-2023)**
5.23.24-LOT – 1048-After careful visual and UV light inspection, I do not note any large chips, losses, or fractures. There is some typical surface wear underfoot to both pieces. On the paperweight with the round stopper, I note some minute fleabites along the edge of the underside as well as some typical fleabites to the lower edge of the stopper. On the piece with the pointed stopper, I note an inherent line extending the width of the base of the stopper. We are not certain if this is inherent to the manufacture, but it is not felt on the exterior of the glass and we do not believe it is a fracture. The piece appears to be structurally sound and stable. There is also a small dimpled flaw to the exterior of this piece, near where the interior ink basin ends. This was difficult to photograph, but can be seen in image #12.
