- Lot Description
(pair) Spanish Baroque style armchairs, early 20th c., each having squared back and seat with turned finials, in black leather upholstery, finished with large nailheads, rising on squared supports joined by carved box stretcher, approx 46.5"h, 29.25"w, 24"d, seat height: approx 18"h
Condition
09.04.24: In my opinion regarding LOT 3250: I note that both chairs are presently intact and structurally sturdy, the leather backs and seats of both chairs are securely bound to frame, all leather having typical minor creasing, one seat back has an approx 2” wide region of depressions along the lower edge that may be a restoration, but I cannot tell for certain as the backside of the leather is concealed by fabric lining, the back and seat of this chair are slightly sagging in the middle, and have minor spotting along the side edges, as is commensurate with age and use, the other chair with leather remaining taut, one of the arms of this chair retaining taut leather is slightly loose at the front support joinery but remains intact, I observe patination of the nail-head trim, and sparse typical minor surface wear to the frame such as light abrasions and small nicks commensurate with use
