(pair) Anglo-Indian carved hardwood pedestals, late 19th c., accompanied by brass jardinieres, likely Northern Indian, with parcel gilt engraved decoration of peacocks among foliates, polychrome enameled detailing, (one) fixed to stand, rising on elaborately carved pedestal with foliates and scrollwork, central standard modeled as a serpent and bird with outstretched wings, round base further rising on zoomorphic elephant-fish hybrid supports, pedestal: approx 42.25"h, 14"w, 13"d, planter: approx 9"h, 9.5"diam
Condition
2.18.25-In my opinion regarding LOT: 2339-Both pedestals stand sturdy, as described one pot is affixed to the pedestal, the other fits snugly into the top, however is removable, metal pots are intact overall with evidence of use, including oxidation patination, some rubs, and where, no breaks or holes to pots observed, carved bases are well defined with crisp details, I note only some typical small, minor wood losses, visible joints at wings, light rubs and overall dust, all as commensurate with age and use
