(lot of 2) Native American silver bolo ties, each having silver tips, on braided black leather cord, including: (1) sterling silver bolo tie, signed Dear (David Dear, Apache/ Welsh, active in Santa Fe, New Mexico, 20th c.), with raised orbs on scalloped ornament, hallmarked .925, bolo ornament only: approx 2.25"h, 1.75"w; (1) silver (content unknown) bolo tie, signed Marc Antia (Apache, 20th c.), with concentric geometric designs and radiating stampwork motifs, bolo ornament only: approx 2.25"diam, 113.9 grams total (inclusive of all materials) **Provenance: the collection of a psychiatrist who taught at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas in the 1960s and went on to become a founding faculty member of the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he taught thousands of doctors over a career into the 2000s. The doctor amassed his collection over several years with dedication, care, a critical eye for detail, and cultural appreciation.
