(lot of 2) Large painted two-panel floor screens, depicting a continuous Impressionist-style European landscape, each panel: approx 98"h, 29"w
Condition
10.11.24-LOT 3491: These screens are comprised of painted canvas mounted on dense wood panels, both screens are presently intact, each set secure at hinged joinery, the pigment exhibits varying degrees of craquelure, the cream-painted verso of panels being slightly yellowed and having craquelure throughout, and I observe one minute spot of canvas lifting from the panel, canvas remains securely mounted along all other seams, and is free from observed tearing and losses, the pigment has typical small losses and minor staining/ discoloration concentrated along the edges and are commensurate with use, UV light examination does not reveal evidence of restoration or inpainted touch ups
