- Lot Description
(pair) French gilt metal two-light candelabra, now fashioned as boudoir table lamps, each in the form of a reticulated woven basket with flared rim, issuing two scrolled arms, with applied foliate vines and applied porcelain flowers, terminating on faux candles and fabric shades, hexagonal base ending on paw feet, accompanied by four fabric shades, equipped with US wiring, observed operating, approx 13 1/8"h, 16"w, 6"d, 8.5lbs total **Provenance: From the Byram Family's Above Stratford Mansion. John Byram, a prominent Austin-based real estate developer, and his late wife Sally Byram curated this French Provincial style estate with the help of notable architects and interior designers. The home has remained untouched since Sally's untimely passing in 2006, serving as a testament to her taste for sophistication and craftsmanship**
Condition
CR 3.24.25-In my opinion regarding: LOT 2318: As described the pair was observed operating, having been equipped with US wiring, I note that both lamps are presently intact and stand sturdy, all elements currently appearing secure, there is sparse typical minor chipping to the edge of porcelain flower petals, UV light examination reveals several with glued reinforcement, are overall minor, some of the florals slightly use but remaining secure with the wire tendril protruding slightly through the pistil, this minor wear is typical and commensurate with age and use, I observe patination and spotting of the metal elements with sparse minor pitting, and mellowing of the gilt finish, the fabric shades intact with scattered minute staining and some tearing to the interior lining fabric, as well as typical minor loose threads and runs, applique trim remaining secure, please refer to attached images
