Both entirely hand sewn w/ construction elements consistent w/ 1840s: 1 indigo resist dyed cotton w/ white floral motif, tomato red bias trim to bodice front, cuff & skirt, vegetable ivory buttons, c. 1880, B 34”, W 26”, L 50”, (0.5” tears CB bodice & CF placket, few tiny holes, minor discoloration hem, wear to underarms, collar & cuffs) Very Good; 1 ecru resist printed cotton dress in crescent moon & star motif w/ applied bias bands & collar, large panel of same material included, likely early aniline dye, B 32”, W 24”, L 49”, sash 12” x 140”, (broad fading to print, 0.25” hole waistband, light wear CF collar, scattered tiny holes & stains, light discoloration to hem, light discoloration & 0.5” repair to sash) Good. Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum.

Due to the volume of shipping anticipated after the sales event, packing and shipping may require up to fourteen (14) business days from receipt of cleared payment. Once the package has been shipped, any shipping related issues or claims are between the shipper and the purchaser. Augusta Auction Co. shall not be responsible for any acts or omissions in the packing and shipping of purchased lots.
