- Lot Description
This is a Victorian black lacquered writing slope or lap desk. It features ornate gilt with intricate floral and geometric patterns across the surface. The box has a scalloped edge and is set on small pedestal feet. When opened, it reveals a felt-lined writing surface with compartments for writing instruments, ink wells, and a storage space for paper.

Condition
There are visible signs of wear consistent with age, including some surface cracks and chips in the lacquer, particularly at the corners. The interior is well-preserved but shows some wear from use.
