- Lot Description
Italian carved and parcel-gilt wood bust of a bishop/saint, mid-19th century, with a painted face and flowing beard, wearing the traditional mitre, his carved robes decorated with incised flowers and leaves.
Dimensions: 36.5" x 24.5" x 8"
Condition
The bust shows visible signs of wear consistent with age, including chipped paint and cracks in the wood. The polychrome finish has areas of significant loss, particularly around the shoulders and edges of the robes. The wood itself has noticeable age cracks, particularly on the back of the mitre. There are areas of previous restoration, as seen in patches of touch-up paint.

The cost of shipment will be Buyer's full responsibility. In-house packaging and shipping may be available. All quotes are based upon the size and weight of the package as indicated by the carrier and all will include insurance as well as signature confirmation in most cases and will be handled through USPS or FedEx. International shipments will be made through USPS, FedEx, or DHL. Shipments will be insured and declared for the full purchase value (hammer plus premium). International buyers are solely responsible for any duties, taxes, clearance fees or any other fees imposed by their country for the import of their goods.
