This elegant sterling silver bowl is a stunning representation of Art Nouveau design, featuring a beautifully detailed repoussé iris motif that wraps around the entire exterior of the bowl. The organic forms of leaves and flowers are intricately sculpted in high relief, creating a textured, three-dimensional effect. The craftsmanship showcases the influence of Japanese artistry combined with Western silverwork techniques, typical of the pieces produced by Arthur & Bond, a well-known British firm operating in Yokohama during the late 19th to early 20th century. The bottom is hallmarked "Arthur & Bond, Yokohama, Sterling".
Dimensions:
The bowl is in good overall condition, showing signs of tarnish consistent with its age, which can be polished. No significant dents or damage.
