Meticulously hand painted in polychrome on silk, depicting an Immortal or a scholar with an attendant wandering in mountain landscape, signed and sealed in the upper left corner, brocade silk border, mounted on silk and paper; framed in light wood frame with black lacquer finish, overall 90" (7'6") x 45-1/2" (3'9-1/2").
Inscriptions read: "I might be the only one walking in the inaccessible mountain. The farther I walked down the mountain through a small path, the less steep it became. (As I turned around and looked back), the ancient mountain path seemed to have been raised up high by the chaotic rocks, and two or three mountain peaks were merging with white clouds." / "Written at a hostel room in Xian Yang County in the 10th Lunar month of Gui Mao Year (1663)". Signed with seals: Xiao Yuncong (The author’s full name).

Good overall antique condition, some wavy undulation to lower left corner, sporadic wear, foxing and minor losses commensurate with age and use.
