Minute hand painted in polychrome on silk, depicting mountain landscape with pavilions and wanderers, silk brocade borders, framed in light wood frame with black lacquer finish, overall 81-1/2" (6'9") x 47-1/4" (4'). Calligraphy inscriptions read: "When darkness falls upon the mountain and the forest pond, it feels cool around the waterside pavilion, and floral fragrances are everywhere. The bamboo backyard is the most fascinating place for visitors, where they can enjoy tea made from fresh rainwater. / Painted with Wang Shigu’s style by Xin Luo Shan Ren (the author’s art ) at the window of Yin Yue (Ode to the Moon) House on a winter morning of the 10th Lunar month of Xin Wei Year (1751). (Note: Wang Shigu (1632-1717) was a famed Chinese painter of the Qing Dynasty.). Signed with seals: Hua Yan (The author’s full name) / Bu Yi Sheng (The author’s art name).
