• Lot Description
  This is a Japanese navy Kai Gunto sword as worn by a Japanese officer during WW II. The handle is wrapped in brown cord and has a tassel attached. Tassel appears to be not original to the sward. Under the wrap is black skin of a sting ray. Tang is stamped with an anchor, which can be seen on photo No. 8. Two spacers are stamped with number 359. The scabbard is wrapped with sharkskin and has a number of clasps.

  Condition

  Shark skin on the scabbard has a crack along the entire scabbard.
