  18k yellow gold exquisite example of fine Italian micro mosaic work crafted in the mid to late 1800s in the Egyptian revival style; featuring a beautifully detailed scarab beetle motif, apprx. 20 mm; the reverse of the medallion pendant features a beveled glazing window in the locket / mourning jewelry style. With hints of metallic reflecting light, the vibrant colors of the tiny glass tesserae used to create the scarab stand out dramatically against the stark white background; overall weight 20.5 gm.
