Collection of aircraft fabric fragment relics on print marketed in the 1970/80's by the Smithsonian's National Air and Space Museum. The fabric originated from famous aircraft that were being restored/conserved. These pieces were part of the Smithsonian's "Aviation Relic Series" which featured a print image of the aircraft and an attached 2" x 2" pieces of fabric from the specific aircraft.
This collection includes:
- two (2) dark brown swatches from Oakley Kelly and John Macready's Fokker T-2;
- two (2) swatches from the DE Havilland DH-4 WWI bomber;
- a brown swatch from Calbraith Perry Rodgers's Wright Brothers Vin Fiz;
- a dark brown swatch from Lt. Heinz von Beaulieu-Maerconnay's Fokker D-VI 'U.10';
- and a light brown swatch from the Albatros D.Va No. 7161/17.
Accompanied by copies of the Smithsonian's marketing materials related to the series.
Condition
Very good overall, two posters slightly undulated with small residues to the margins edge.
