White painted dial, with all minute hash marks on two continuous circles, one being at the dials edge. All chapters represented with stylized arabic numerals Blued steel cathedral type hands. Swing away brass bezel, with mahogany case with center and bottom glass panels, decorated with transfer designs featuring eagles and two three masted gunboats engaged in combat. Decorative brass elements flank the top inspection door. Topped with a gold gilt spread winged eagle. Heavy leaded weighted pendulum bob. Brass key included.
Provenance: old private collection famous T.G. Hawkes & Co. family, Corning, N.Y., by descent in the family to the current owner; owned by William Hawkes in 1924, a grandfather of the current owner.
