• Lot Description
  Winston Churchill and President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. Signed embossed lithograph, 64/350, after intaglio drawings by Curtis Hooper, published by Sarah Churchill in the 1970s as “A Visual Philosophy of Winston Churchill,” signed in pencil Sarah Churchill in the lower center, with blind embossed coat-of-arms, and blind embossed inscription: ‘”I was overpowered by a sense of deep and irreparable loss.’ / On the death of FDR.” Depicting Churchill with a seated Roosevelt, from a photograph taken at Quebec. Engraving shows a blind embossed soldier’s helmet and holster or belt resting upon a cross grave marker with the words “And so were we…” to the right of the cross and the flag running in the wind on a flagpole. Framed with double matting under glazing in carved gilt wood frame, overall 41-1/4" x 30-1/8"
