A multi piece silver dial has Roman numerals for all chapters, all minute hash marks identified on a continuous circle. Above the circle at each chapter, the hour is broken into five minute intervals, using arabic numerals. A dial above one o'clock is for different chime patterns, the chime mute is above twelve, day calendar above eleven. Decorative brass floral triangular shapes between one and two, three and five, seven and eight, nine and eleven; provide the illusion of a square dial. Blued minute/hour skeleton diamond shaped hands. The fusee is cable driven, utilizing large pillar plates 7 â…ž" wide x 9 3/16 long. The clock strikes every quarter hour. Eight hammers strike twelve bells to chime the quarters and hour. Behind the chime selector above one o'clock, lies a pinned cylinder, which trips fourteen hammers, to play a tune when a string is pulled on the side of the case at three. It is powered by winding the arbor at two o'clock, Pressure is held, the hammers move when slightly rotating the cylinder; the trip does not release. It may be a matter of lubrication. A heavy mahogany veneered wood case, with brass feet, carry handles, finial, and plain linear appointments. Comes with five keys, not all related to the clock. Marked Abel Panchaund on dial, as well as Samuel Audinet on the nicely decorated exposed pillar plate.
