• Lot Description
  This charming hand-painted Majolica plate captures the essence of 18th-century Italian craftsmanship. The central design features a pastoral scene depicting a figure in traditional attire alongside a reclining goat by a serene riverside. The vibrant palette of blues, greens, yellows, and earthy tones highlights the artistry and skill of the period. Surrounding the central image are cherubic figures, floral motifs, and Baroque-style scrolling accents, adding an air of elegance and playfulness to the piece. The reverse of the plate is unmarked, as is typical of many early Majolica works, and shows signs of age

  Condition

  The plate is uneven and shows various imperfection of manufacturing on reverse. Some rubbing and loses to glazing on the edges. No restoration noticed.
