• Lot Description
  Of bulbous form pair of porcelain export Satsuma jars with dome lids with bulbous finial, raised on tapered circular foot, each decorated in polychrome depicting pheasants among blossoming peonies and other blooming trees, gilt highlights, leal borders around shoulders and on the lid, marked with Satsuma crest on the shoulder, signed with Japanese characters and marked "Foreign" on the bottom. Provenance: examined by Sotheby's in 1990.

  Condition

  Good, some wear to gilt finish, one jar rim with chip and later touch up commensurate with age and use.
