  Of octagonal form aubegine lacquer boxe with fitted lift up slightly domed lid, revealing 9 bowls inside; masterfully hand inlaid with mother-of-pearl depicting pictorial landscape with deer, turtles,and storks near pine tree on the hill with lingzhi fungi and body of water. Provenance: Estate of Dr. Ye Yong Chun (Korean, 1910-1994), who served in the South Korean government, notably as Head of Civil Affairs in the Ministry of Education in 1944, Minister in Office of Governor-General of Korea, Vice Governor and Governor of Bank of Korea (1951-1961), Minister of Construction from (1964-1966), Chairman of Korean Branch of International LiONS Club, Chair of Korean International Law Association and Deputy Chair of Democratic-Republican Party; by descent in the family to current owner.
