  Exquisitely minute hand painted exceptionally fine illumination miniature painting, depicting in polychrome Supreme Goddess Durga slaying the buffalo demon Mahishasura, she is armed with the magical weapons lent her by the assembly of male gods; gold highlights, matted and framed under glass in gilt frame, overall 21" x 17"; old annotation and Gump's Gallery label on the back .
