• Lot Description
  Of oval convex form porcelain plaque, hand painted in polychrome, depicting Girolamo Savonarola, after Fra Bartolomeo (Italian,1472-1517), framed in 19th c. Italian carved gilt frame, inscribed on the back with antique stamps and Florence mark, overall 8-1/4" x 5-1/2" x 2-1/2". Can be used as desk top stand or hang on the wall. Provenance: old private collection, Pittsburgh, PA, by descent in the family to the current owner.

  Very good portrait, some wear frame commensurate with age and use.
