"Enjoying the fresh morning air, (I) stepped into an old temple. The sunlight just came out, and shone only upon trees on high grounds / The narrow winding path led to a hidden corner, where (I) found a Chan meditation hut set amid greens and flowers. / The flying birds looked to be delighted by the mountain landscape, and my mind seemed to be purified by the pond water reflections. / Sounds in the universe, all sunk into deep silence here except the ringing temple bell and chanting Sutra. / Created by Nan Nong (the author’s art name), the master of Un Lim San Bang (Mountain House Un Lim) (note: This poem is the entire work of “A visit to the Meditation Hall behind Poshan Temple†originally created by Chang Jian (708-765), a Tang Dynasty poet.)
