  A fine miniature portrait of Napoleon, oval, signed "Delaroche" at the center right, framed in a carved bone and sperm whale tooth, French text page attached on the black frame, overall 5-1/2" x 4-5/8" x 3/8". After the famous portrait by Delaroche "Napoleon I in his study in 1807". Provenance: old private collection, Pittsburgh, PA, by descent in the family to the current owner.
