• Lot Description
  Rectangular wood casket with ring hinged dome cover on wooden base, inlaid with hand embossed 950 silver panels all around depicting historical events from Medieval manuscripts (XI-XV centuries "La Châtelaine de Vergi") with kings and queens, knights and saints; portraits of king/duke and queen/duchess on the cover sides above panels on the casket. Upholstered inside with maroon red damask. No marks found.

  Condition

  Good, very nice even patina to silver, lacking the key, natural distress lines to wood bottom; inside lining of later addition; silver purity X-ray machine tested.
