A spun marble ball, rests on a foliage form pedestal atop a round stepped marble base. The center of the ball is drilled for Louis XV type minute/hour hands, with Roman numerals surrounding the hands in a circular pattern, representing all the chapters. Resting on top at dead center, is a brown patinated artist signed depiction of a putto, by Sylvain Kinsburger (1855 - 1935 ), noted for classical depictions. Flowers attached to their stem, drip over the facia of the ball. An approximate 50 mm round time only movement, with a plate type compensated balance and side lever type escapement, powers the clock. Snap on reticulated case back with original key. The two light candelabra follow the same format, with a spun marble ball and turned marble base. The cups represent opened carnations, attached to their stems with flowers opened and those yet to bloom. Between the two floral cups, rises a blooming carnation, with two buds yet to open.
Condition
The lever, escape wheel and compensated balance are in good condition, and will run for a short period. The movement is quite gummy, with what appears to be decades since a service. A strip and clean should restore time keeping.
