Cast gilt bronze clock with enameled Roman numeral plaques on lavishly decorated dial under hinged cover with beveled glass, hinged back cover with frosted beveled glass; movement marked "Japy Freres & Cie / Med. d'Honneur" and "E.P. Depose 4850" on the back; quatrefoil base, tapered acanthus leaf stem and square clock with laurel leaf design, surmounted by classical double handle urn with acanthus leaf and flame finial, laurel leaf garlands and acanthus leaf scroll on the sides. Pair of similar design three light candelabra.
Condition
Some wear to gilt finish, soils and dust. Clock will run and chime functions. However, mainspring has slipped the arbor, will need to reform the tongue at mainspring end. Otherwise mainspring is functional, as it currently runs for about an hour. Crutch needs adjustment. Missing pendulum and no key.
