• Lot Description
  Of octagonal form exceptionally minute carved and "oil and water" surface polished greenish white with russet jadeite jade ceremonial marriage bowl, slightly tapered octagonal body, each panel with carved frame, wide border with lobed corners on ten outside corresponding with barbed design on the inside, interior carve with pronounced ribs. Exceptionally fine open work carved double handles with blooming flowers with lush foliage and intertwined stems; border minute carved and well polished with wonderful lotus flowers design. Carved integral jade rings with holder around body. Offered on storage case with carved bone stylised dragons clasps, blue silk tufted upholstery in the inside. Provenance: old private collection of native Chinese collector since early 20th c.; by descent in the family to the current owner.

  Very good bowl, some wear and losses to box with a few old tears to silk upholstery inside.
