An oval body whose small ends raise approximately 1 ¾" above the center rim; where final style handles are attached. The body is reticulated in a complex pattern, A continuous leaf garland extends all around the perimeter. The garland starts and stops with a circular cartouche on the two longest sides of the oval; on center, a round cartouche is encircled with the same leaf pattern. An eagle flanks the cartouche on both sides, providing the start and terminal point of the garland decoration. Below the cartouche and on center of the small ends of the oval, a spread wing eagle holding a fasces, acting as feet for the basket. A five star crown above the cartouche stands for "love, honor, sacrifice, honor and obedience". Some faded hallmarks other then english are on the verso. The 1902 hallmarks are most likely a verification of a foreign manufactured item. Gross weigh is 29.58 troy ounces.
