A bronze dial with blue Roman numerals on porcelain inset plaques for all chapters. Blued fleur de lis type minute/hour hands. Swing open dial cover with domed crystal. The unpatinated bronze case mimics elements found on Gothic architecture. Skelton feet support a multi tier base with edge decoration, terminating at a plateau, upon which rests a depiction of a clock tower, with a curved arch, fluted columns on the arch's flanks, supporting a rectangular arcade, decorated with winged gargoyles, various cornice designs, with a flat roof base. Upon the arcade is a flask shaped roof with pinnacles in each corner of roof base. Caryatid type female figures are on the sides of the clock case at three and nine. Opposing female headed sejant lion forms, reside below the six o'clock position. An approximate 70 mm Japy type round plate movement, striking on the half and full hour. Pendulum included, missing wing key, bell and retainer.
Condition
Good. Runs and strikes on the crutch. Mainspring appears weak, and most likely needs replacement.
