• Lot Description
  An approximate 4 ½" diameter white enamel dial with Roman numerals for all chapters, with all minute hash marks on a continuous circle at the dial's edge, bold at chapters. Clock movement is housed in cylinder on pedestal form case, with acanthus leaf, lion masks on the flanks, and leaf and berry decorations, with a mask of Mercury below six. The case is topped with the classic urn form finial. To the left of nine o'clock resides a youth playing a viola. Figure and clock case are gilt spelter, as well as the claw feet. Black base is iron. Approximately 90 mm Japy Freres movement, striking on the half and hour. Has original pendulum and winding key. Blued moon type minute/hour hands.

  Condition

  Running and chiming at inspection, but not tested for accuracy. Gold tone finish on clock is in good condition. Urn cover missing, some wear and losses to finish.
