• Lot Description
  Exceptionally fine hand crafted ink stick featuring goddess of Mercy Guanyin holding lotus flowers and standing on carp, lavishly decorated robe with vines, lush floral-foliate and butterfly design finished with pure gold leaf and polychrome pigments; marked with elongated seal-mark on the bottom: "Made by Hu Kaiwen from Xiuning county of Huizhou city." Offered in custom made nesting box with removable locking bar, slide-in top with glass panel, brocade silk upholstery, overall 2-1/4" x 8-5/8" x 3-7/8".

  Good antique condition, unused, very old distress lines to ink stick, soils and some sporadic wear to box commensurate with age.
