Bulova entered into a contract in 1949 for the right to use "Academy Award", "Oscar", and the image of the Oscar. Forty models were produced, some with special dials. Contrary to reports, these watches were for general sale, not specific to the Academy.

All minute hash marks along the perimeter at the dials edge, bold at chapters. Blued pencil type minute/hour hands, blued stick type sub hand. Correct caliber 7AA, 21 jewel manual wind movement, related to the Academy series. Original Academy hard plastic sales case.
