• Lot Description
  Infantry officer's sword with blue and gilt decorations to curved blade, lion head pommel, carved bone grip, hallmarks to underside of guard, unknown maker, possibly George Turner, London, c. 1789-1809, G.T, and Lion hallmark to back of handle, leather scabbard with lion head to locket with etched designs, cut out sun and moon designs with scrolling foliage, etched fret and foliate designs, inscribed to John Hay on the locket and dated October, 25, 1809.

  Condition

  Wear throughout, tarnishes and polish residues, minor wear to blue and gilt design, tear to scabbard near locket.
