• Lot Description
  Handmade elongated teardrop form platinum drop, that was originally part of a diamond necklace, that can now be worn on a thin gold or platinum 2mm plain chain link necklace. A 12.9 mm deep x 12.3 mm wide x 17mm long yellow sapphire is nested in a double wire gallery, attached to a handmade milgrained open floral designed bottom, the stone being secured by two hand made floral leaf type supports at the small ends of the elliptical form. The small ends of the sapphire are flanked by four inline bezel set square cut blue sapphires, on centerline of the crown of the sapphire. The long thin section leading to the loop to pass the chain, is open work, supporting plaques inset with period diamonds. A 3mm single bezel set diamond, is at the terminal point of the heavy part of the drop. At the end of the thin section which will be supported by the chain, four diamonds form a petal pattern. All edges on the top of the pendant metal work, are milgrained. Appraisal estimates the yellow sapphire at 24.75 carats. Approximately .32 carats of period cut diamonds, VS/SI and G/H color, highlight the delicate construction. Gross weight is 10.1 grams. Appraisal of value and period sales box included.   Very good overall. Very slight wear on some intersection points of the facets on the sapphire.
