• Lot Description
  Othello. Fashioned in chalk plaster after one of many different poses by Calvi. This was a special commission for Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing in 1960, by Austin Products of Brooklyn N.Y.; whose sculpture business was in its infancy, signed on the back for 3M. Othello is one of the most beloved characters of Shakespeare. Sir Lawrence Olivia, portrayed the character in a 1965 production, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor.   Condition

  One small chip in the hand he holds a clump of fabric. A few scuffs in the paint. All easy to touch up. Original hardwood base.
