• Lot Description
  "Beheading of John the Baptist" (Bartsch 125; Meder, Hollstein 231; Schoch Mende Scherbaum 152), 1510. Woodcut, later impression, on laid paper, nitialed in the plate, trimmed just inside the platemark, Bishop's crest watermark, hinge mounted to matboard, under conservation glass in gilt frame, overall 15" x 12".

  Condition

  Trimmed to plate, minor tears around the perimeter, minor loss at lower left corner, old hinge tape verso, minor spots of foxing. Good.
