• Lot Description
  Mr. Williams was the bassist and backing vocalist for AC/DC from 1977 to 2016. Inducted to the Australian Recording Industry Association's Hall of Fame in 1988 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003. Since his retirement in 2016, he has dedicated much of his time to charitable endeavors. This pistol as well as a diamond and gold pair of cuff links and matching pendant and chain were donated by him to the Southwest Florida Children's Charities in 2014. It was auctioned on February 22, 2014 at the charities wine and food fest. Three shots were fired to use the head of the brass to make the custom jewelry by designer Mark Loren. For the men"s cufflinks, the head of the .50 Action Express was cut to a length of .1875 and a gold bezel mounted diamond was set in the primer pocket. This was then soldered into a 14K gold mounting and approximately 50 pts. of VS2/SI1 H/I diamonds surround the cartridge head. The cufflinks are fixed back with the end piece resembling a half of a prolate spheroid. The gross weight of gold and nickel plated cartridge heads are 24.6 grams, total diamond weight for the pair exceeds one carat. The cuffs are yellow gold and the heads are .750" in diameter. The matching pendant uses the same technique as the cufflinks, and is the same diameter, however it is 14K white gold with an attached bail, containing approximately 120 pts. of SI1 H color diamonds with a gross weight of 11.6 grams, suspended on a 2.8 gram sterling chain. The firearm is a stock model with the titanium gold finish (DE50TG). For those not familiar with this weapon, it features polygon rifling. When the barrel is viewed from the chamber it appears as if the barrel is washed out. The pistol has it's original plastic carry case, two magazines with the floor plate finished in gold as the pistol is, trigger safety lock, magazine takedown tool, CD instructional video and related paper manual and warranty card.
